Kingdoms to Save and Women to Love!

Back in January, I posted that the long-awaited sequel to 1982's The Sword And The Sorcerer, Tales of an Ancient Empire, was finally in production. Well, a couple of days ago, the director of both films, Albert Pyun, posted a comment to that blog entry with a link to a film clip from the new movie.

The clip features sword & sorcery vet Kevin Sorbo (Hercules The Legendary Journeys, Kull The Conqueror) and can be found here.

There's also a new official website up for the production. Here's the Link.

Obviously Pyun was Googling for blog references to his film, and found this blog. This makes him the second fantasy film director to post comments here, after Mark Atkins of Merlin & The War of The Dragons/DragonQuest. Man, this internet thing is pretty amazing.

Yes, the internet is an amazing and scary thing. But it does bring filmmakers and filmgoers into direct contact and that, to me, is miraculous. So use this thing and give me some feedback on the scene. You'll be helping me out with the final shaping of the film. And Christopher, I really need your steely eyed 15 year old's POV of the scene.

Thanks again for everyone's time. Supporters have put up a facebook page for my films called Albert Pyun Movies. I'm passing along some stories and memorabilia/pics from my past films if you have an interest.

Best,
Albert Pyun

I could have sworn Lee Horsley's 1980s moustache was in the original S/S. I was incredulous Sorbo didn't have one. But I'm wrong. I haven't seen S/S since the early days of cable television...Richard Lynch outduels Thulsa Doom and Rip Torn for worst scarring of an early teen, by the way.

No mustache in Sword & the Sorcerer. That was Matt Houston.
OTOH, Lee had Pamela Hensley to go with the 'stache on Houston. but Kathleen Beller was more than adequate (and bustier)in SatS!

I wondered where Sorbo was. Haven't heard much of him in a while.
