Happy Birthday Boris Karloff
Happy birthday to the true gentleman of horror, Boris Karloff, born this day in 1887 as William Henry Pratt in London, England. Not every movie he appeared in was a classic, but he was always a class act.
I was over in Big Lots recently, a discount retail store, and for some time now they've been handling cheap DVDs, generally for $3. a disc. At any rate they recently got in some 2 on 1 disc DVDs titled the Val Lewton Horror Double Feature, some starring Karloff. I picked up I Walked with a Zombie/ The Body Snatcher, and Isle of the Dead/Bedlam. Just thought I'd mention this if anyone was interested.

Karloff had a way of elevating weak material. He had real screen magnetism and a truly chameleon-like acting ability.
