Anybody else remember Robert Conrad's short-lived Seventies spy show, A Man Called Sloane?All I really remember about it is that Conrad drove a vintage, cream-colored Cord and had a sidekick with a cybernetic hand. There was also a TV movie, alternately known as
Death Ray 2000 and T.R. Sloane, which was the pilot for the series, but it starred Robert Logan as Sloane, and the metal-hand guy worked for the villains instead of the good guys.I'd really love to see Sloane again, but then, I'm strange that way.
I'd also like to see a few other made-for-TV spy-fi flicks/failed pilots that I remember from when I was a kid, like Billion Dollar Threat, Once Upon A Spy, and S*H*E.
Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that none of those will be coming out on DVD any time soon....

I don't remember the series, although I remember the movie. A spy spoof series I liked was "My man Flynn" I think. It starred Jason Cogburn I believe. Wouldn't mind seeing it again.
Vague memories of 'Sloane'. Had to watch it 'cause Robert Conrad is The Man (note to self - watch more Wild Wild West DVDs this weekend).
The others are new to me - S*H*E is something I need to look into I think.
I'm a huge Wild, Wild West fan... but I must have missed Sloane...
Charles – I'm pretty sure you're thinking of OUR MAN FLINT and IN LIKE FLINT, which starred James Coburn. There was a TV movie, too, with a different actor, which I've never seen. All three are available on DVD, though, and I need to pick the set up.
Arclight – S*H*E starred model Cornelia Sharpe, and was written by Bond screenwriter Richard Maibaum.
Craig – SLOANE wasn't all that good, typical cheesy 70's stuff along the lines of the later WONDER WOMANs, right down to the annoying talking computer with blinking lights, but I'd like to see it again anyway.
I remember George Hamilton's '80s show Spies very fondly for some reason.
Say what you will but make no mistake, Sloane was not only cool because of Robert Conrad (no kid growing up in the 70's on reruns of Wild, Wild West and Ba Ba Black Sheep would have ever missed A Man Called Sloane, but it was a lot of fun too. I'm not even sure it ran for a full season but I would run to the DVD store to buy it now.
Sloane boasted interesting guest-stars such as Roddy McDowall, Monte Markham, Mako, Robert Culp, Clive Revill, Geoffrey Lewis, Richard Lynch and Eric Braeden, usually cast as megalomaniacs out to rule the world. As Anonymous rightly says, it was a fun show, a 'Wild Wild West' for the '70's. Shame it did not last longer.

I remember especially one episode were 4 beautiful girls were in the pool in a chicken fight.
