It's official. We've got a new dog. Everything went through okay, and we'll be driving down to meet him and bring him home on the 22nd. The folks from the shelter call him "Wags," but I suspect we'll be changing his name once we get to know him a little. He kinda looks more like a "Max" to me....

    I enjoy naming pets after someone I know.

    Let's say your friend's name is Gavin, and you give that name to your dog.

    Then you get to make fun statements like "Gavin was outside chasing squirrels all morning" and "I caught Gavin dragging his butt on the carpet again!"

    Kudos to you for adopting a shelter dog. Best dog we've owner as a family came from a shelter.
